Thank you for your support of Stitches from the Heart.   Your purchase of an annual membership goes directly to the cost of shipping lovely handmade items directly to the hospitals that receive them at no cost and are provided to less fortunate babies and families.

Just a few things we ask you to remember:
- Please make sure that all yarn used is acrylic; this is the practical yarn to use in creating the lovely crafted items.   There are many great types and brands out there, use softness when choosing materials.
- The hats will be going over delicate heads, therefore stretchiness is important. Cast on and Bind off loosely!   Remember, no pom-poms or bows as they get tangled in hospital tubes and wires.   Blankets should have minimal gaps between stitches so that little fingers and toes don’t get stuck.
- Please refer to the size chart (below) to assist you in creating your lovely items!
- Do not place any items in plastic bags or baggies when packing; we are trying to go as green as possible and these items will be discarded.
- While packing your items, remember to securely attach a "Made with Love" tag.   These can be found and printed directly from our website (Click Here).   The nurses love to see where each item originates.   Inside the box, place a packing slip (Click Here) with your name, address, and email along with the number of items contained in the box.
- To save on shipping costs, remember you can pack your items in a USPS Postage Paid Priority box.   They are available at your post office for postage of $10.95 for a medium size and $14.95 for a large size.

Knitted or crocheted hats should be made about 1-1 1/2" smaller around than the head circumference, as the hats should stretch.   Cast ons and offs need to be stretchy enough to go over heads gently.   Hat height given is measured from the bottom of the hat to the center top of hat before turning the brim up.   This is NOT the actual height of the head as measurements assume you will be turning up a brim.   Hats can be made taller if you want a larger brim to fold up. |
