FREE PATTERNS
	We know how hard it can be for new members to get started.  To provide a bit of help, here's a list of resources for free patterns.  That said, don't forget that by subscribing to the Stitches from the Heart Gazette, our print newsletter, you'll receive patterns to use and you'll help support the work we do. One of the best resources for FREE PATTERNS, (as well as it being the largest online community of crocheters and knitters in the world with over 2 million members) Ravelry is an amazing site.  It's free, they have a very strict privacy policy, and you may participate as much or as little as you wish.  Not only does SFTH have a Group page there, but many of our members belong as well.
	In the meantime, let's get started. Don't forget to check the SFTH size guidelines before starting your projects.
	SFTH neither encourages, nor discourages, any particular brand of yarn, as long as it is acrylic and soft.  The yarn companies (Lion Brand, Red Heart, etc.) often have good patterns. By going to their site and signing up (it does seem everyone requires you sign up), you may go to "Patterns" and use their search function.  If anything, they have so many it can be overwhelming.
