If you want to help, but are unable to devote the time to knit, crochet, or quilt, you can make a much needed financial contribution.   Your generous donation helps to cover the cost of mailing the clothing to the hospitals and charities we help throughout the United States.

Your contribution will also help with our Senior program, in which we take yarn and supplies and make them available to Seniors.   This way, those on a fixed income can still help these tiny children and at the same time get the fulfillment that comes with helping others.

Help Stitches from the Heart continue mailing to our hospitals and those born under less than ideal situations.   Each box we send out costs approximately $13 ground UPS.   Your donations will help off-set these costs and help us to continue to provide the hand-made creations for these babies.   Each contribution will receive a tax deducation letter for your records.   Thank you for all your assistance.

Stitches From The Heart has often been asked why hand-made creations need to be shipped to our central location and not brought directly to the hospitals and centers around the nation.   Over the years, SFTH has made lots and lots of connections at the hospitals and especially with the very busy NICU nurses.   We have been told that that they prefer our boxes to be delivered as there is usually a specific person, usually a volunteer, at each location who makes sure that sure our items gets to the correct families and do not get lost.

So what happens when your items are sent to the Stitches From The Heart main location?   The items arrive from across the nation and are first sorted by item and then by size.   This "hands on" time gives the packing volunteers a chance to "oooh" and "aaah" over the darling items.   Some items that are received are adult sizes and are sorted out and sent to shelters, abuse centers, and missions that have contacted us that are in need of such items.   There is never a "wrong" size or bad color, as each item sent finds it way to a new home.

As each box for the hospital is packed, our volunteers are aware of the unique needs each location has.   Some facilities need all sizes while others may need only preemie or newborn sizes.   Each hospital has continued to tell us over the years that one of the special little things that makes SFTH stand out from other donations is the “Made with Loving Care by" tags that we have on all items that are sent.   This small touch helps remind the families that we are all there with them; that they are not alone.

Please continue to send your generous donations and items to our NEW San Diego location for sorting, labeling, and mailing to our hospitals.   We may never get a chance to meet the families or the children that your generosity touches, but the gifts you share are well appreciated and do make a difference every day.   Thank you so much to all of our supporters and volunteers!!
